A Chinese cloisonné shallow bowl

A Chinese cloisonné shallow bowl, flaring towards the rim, decorated with four panels containing peonies separated by stylized lotus on a pale blue ground, the base with a six character Qianlong mark and of the period, 1736-95, a little surface wear, 16.4cm. Provenance: From the estate of Niel Rimington (1928-2009) of Fonthill Old Abbey, Wiltshire. Cf. Christie's London, Chinese Porcelains and Enamels from the Alfred Morrison Collection, Fonthill House, Lots 25 & 33 for similar examples.
