A rare Chinese underglaze copper red vase of archaic form, freely painted in the early Ming style with bats amidst flowers and scrolling foliage, the neck with Zhou characters and lappets between ruyi and key fret bands, all bordered with underglaze blue, the base with a six character Yongzheng seal mark, 36.5cm.
