An unusual Japanese kinrande wine cup , by Eiraku Hozen (1795-1854), decorated with gilt leaves and scrolls above breaking waves on an iron-red ground, six character mark, 19th century, 7cm. Contained in a wooden box.
The Eiraku family were makers of doburo (earthenware braziers) and other articles for the tea ceremony, of which Hozen was the eleventh generation.
