A rare Chinese enamel rectangular box, the hinged lid painted with a panel containing ducks, flowers and a mythical beast, the sides with a continuous frieze of ducks and flowers, the base and interior with further flowers and fruit, a gilded metal mount, Qianlong 1736-95, 8cm.
