A pair of Chinese armorial plates, painted in gilt with birds, perched in and beneath trees and with the crest of Hinde, c.1730, 22.5cm. (2) Possibly for John Hinde living in Madras before 1743 and in 1746 appointed Governer of Madras. Cf. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, Volume II, p.150.
