A rare Chinese fahua meiping

A rare Chinese fahua meiping, decorated with lotus flowers and leaves rising from breaking waves with swags of beads around the shoulder, all on a dark blue ground, probably from the Shanxi Province. A repair around the neck. 15th century, 28cm. Cf. S J Vainker, Chinese Pottery and Porcelain, no.123 for a similar vase in the British Museum.
