A Chinese black and gold lacquer octagonal workbox

A Chinese black and gold lacquer octagonal workbox, elaborately decorated with many figures, dragons, pagodas and flowerheads, the lid enclosing an arrangement of compartments and trays, above a frieze drawer, all on stylized claw feet, c.1850, minor damages, the feet and some trays perhaps replaced, 35.5cm.
