A Chinese bronze figure of Hsuan Tien Shang Ti, the lord of the black pavilions of heaven seated on a raised platform with a tortoise and serpent at his feet, Ming dynasty, 16th / 17th century 24.5cm.
Hsuan-Tien Shang-Ti (Supreme Emperor of the dark Heavens), is the deity of children, butchers and sailors.
