An unusual Japanese Ko-Kutani shallow dish, richly enamelled with a pheasant perched on a leafy maple branch, the border painted with three panels depicting the Three Friends of Winter on an iron red diaper border, the base with a Fuku mark, late 17th century, 18.2cm. Provenance: Richard de la Mare Paper label for the Oriental Ceramics Society loan exhibition 1956, no. 62.
