A pair of Chinese famille rose saucer dishes, each finely enamelled with fruiting and flowering bitter melon vines, bamboo and butterflies, each with a four character Hongxian mark and probably of the period, 24cm. (2) Cf. Stacey Pierson, Designs as Signs: Decorations and Chinese Ceramics, no. 20 for a bowl decorated with this design, where the fruit is described as a Buddha's hand citron.
