A Chinese blanc de Chine figure of Siddharta Gautama as Sakyamuni, seated with his hands concealed beneath the folds of his robes, gaping at the neck to reveal his emaciated chest, his face contorted in a frown of determined meditation, impressed seal mark for pu zi yu ren (Virtue extends to all, even fishermen), possibly for the artist Su Xuejin, c.1900, 25cm.
