£400 - £600

£450

A Chinese rose/verte ovoid vase, painted with a boy riding a Kylin accompanied by two attendants, Yongzheng 1723-35, 18cm. Together with a wood cover and stand. (3) It is believed that the Kylin is the bringer of sons, much like the stork in Western mythology. On this jar the son is not an ordinary boy but is depicted as a first scholar, dressed in red and wearing a gold crown.
