A small delftware dry drug or pill jar 2nd half 18th century, the baluster body painted in blue with paterae around husk swags and a shaped banner inscribed 'P: ex OPIC', some glaze chipping, 9.5cm.

Pilulae Opticae, sometimes known as Pilulae Lucis Majores, were used in the treatment of opthalmic disorders.
