A privateer wine glass c.1780
A privateer wine glass c.1780, the drawn trumpet bowl engraved 'J Barton / Success to the Unity', raised on a plain stem with a long teardrop above a folded conical foot, 18cm.
More than one ship called The Unity was involved in the American Wars of Independence, and it is likely that this glass relates to one of them.
