A rare Worcester flared teabowl and saucer c.1775-80
A rare Worcester flared teabowl and saucer c.1775-80, painted in the Kakiemon palette with the Two Quail pattern, the bird beneath flowering Oriental plants, within iron red and gilt borders, gold open crescent marks, 12.5cm. (2)
Although an original Japanese design, Worcester appears to have taken inspiration for these pieces from the rival Bow factory who also used this flared shape.
