A large Liverpool creamware jug, c.1780, printed with a full length portrait of David Garrick
A large Liverpool creamware jug, c.1780, printed with a full length portrait of David Garrick holding a baby, titled 'Mr Garrick in the character of Don John in the Chances', the reverse with a portrait panel of William Shakespeare, suspended from a ribbon, beneath the spout with musical trophies, some good restoration to the rim, 30cm.
The print of Garrick is taken from a painting by Philippe-Jacques de Loutherbourg, who was a set designer.
