A Chelsea seal modelled as Punch, dressed in a striped costume, the seal underneath engraved with a blackbird holding a branch in its beak and the motto 'Ia l'aimie Liberte', probably for the Merle family, c.1765, the head broken off and reglued, 3.4cm.
