Three Longton Hall teabowls, c.1755-58, painted in the manner of the Castle Painter, one with a turreted building beside a church, another with a lady reclining beneath a tree with buildings visible in the distance, the interior with a grand house, the last painted with towers on an island to the interior, the exterior moulded as overlapping leaves, two cracked, 4.7cm high max. (3)

While John Hayfield is often the name put forward as the identity of the Castle Painter, the style is actually known to have been executed by several hands.
