A creamware printed mug c.1775
A creamware printed mug c.1775, probably Herculaneum, decorated with three men eating at a table beneath a tree, one reading a newspaper, while two dogs look up expectantly, 14.8cm high.
Provenance: Paper label for the E. Norman Stretton Collection, no. C135, lot 271 in the Philips' sale of his collection in 2001. Previously in the G W Capell collection, sold at Sotheby's 16 February 1965, lot 3.
