A rare pair of delftware polychrome tiles c.1755-70, probably Bristol, each decorated with a central butterfly above two flying insects, some damages, 13cm. (2)
Cf. Anthony Ray, English Delftware Tiles, p200, no.433 for an identical tile.
It is likely that the subject matter for these tiles was based on similar designs in the Ladies' Amusement.
