A pair of Derbyshire porcelain rectangular plaques, each painted with peasant figures in a rural landscape, one signed to the reverse 'J Beard 1831', mounted in wooden frames, 17.5cm. (2) John Beard is listed as a gilder at Derby in 1820 and is registered on a local census as a painter and gilder born in 1787.
