A fine pair of Rockingham porcelain plaques c.1826-29
A fine pair of Rockingham porcelain plaques c.1826-29, painted by John Creswell, each with an exuberant arrangement of flowers and fruit spilling from a vase resting atop a marble plinth, one signed in the paint 'J. Creswell', 22.8cm. (2)
Although Creswell's time at Rockingham was short-lived he quickly became known as one of the factory's finest floral painters, and produced a similar plaque to these for the Earl of Fitzwilliam at Wentworth House.
