A Dudson pottery model of a mythical Roc, standing atop a rocky waterfall and clutching a figure in its claws, mid 19th century, 32.5cm. The figure in this model may be that of Sinbad the Sailor, who tied himself to the foot of a sleeping Roc in order to escape the island on which he was shipwrecked.
