A good dated creamware jug c.1787, probably Yorkshire, painted in fine detail with a farmer about to slaughter his prize bull, the reverse inscribed 'Mr George Timmes Is a Qualified Gentleman. Every year With his Dog & his Gun He needs not to Fear To every one my Jug is free Who likes to drink & smoak with me 1787', a little restoration to the foot, 20.5cm high.
