An Italian maiolica crespina or tazza 17th century, probably Siena, painted in yellow, manganese and ochre with a small bird roundel within a border of stylized flowers, all on a turquoise ground, a reglued chip, rim cracks, 29.5cm. Cf. Julia Poole, Italian Maiolica in the Fitzwilliam Musem, p.146 for a similar example.
