A set of four small Delft drug jars with metal covers
A set of four small Delft drug jars with metal covers, titled within cartouches of peacocks, fruit baskets and angel masks, late 18th century, minor damages, 13cm. (8)
These jars would have been used to store ginger, rosemary, arnica and bitterwood. The metal lids date them to the end of the 18th centurywhen such covers were used to replace the more traditional tied-on parchment.
