Two early delftware dry drug jars, each lightly ribbed body painted in blue with a ribbon cartouche surmounted by and angel with outspread wings, titled THER ANDR and AD:SEABIEM, late 17th century, some chipping, 19cm. (2) Theriac of Andromachus was a traditional remedy containing 73 ingredients including viper flesh, making it a popular choice as an antidote to poisonous bites.
