A large French faïence pilgrim flask early 18th century, the flattened globular form in the Nevers style, painted in blue after the Chinese, one side with censers upon low tables, the reverse with a bird and insect in flight above flowers issuing from a censer and a vase, stylized scrolls to the neck and sides, applied with four simple handles with blue dash decoration, 4.P mark to the base perhaps for the Desvres factory, 42.5cm.
