Two Lambeth delftware plates c.1740

Two Lambeth delftware plates c.1740, both painted in red, yellow, green and blue, one with a seated Chinese boy between flowering branches, the other with a long-tailed bird perched on a leafy branch beside rugged rockwork, a Lambeth saucer dish painted with flowering plants, and a Bristol delftware plate painted in polychrome enamels with a Chinese figure walking in a garden, some damages and repairs, 22.5cm max. (4)

Provenance: respectively acquired from Sotheby's, 26th January 1965, lot 35 (part), formerly in the collection of F H Garner; and Christie's, 5th April 1965, lots 136 and 139 (part), previously in the collection of Sir Gilbert Mellor.
