A garniture of three Spanish faïence drug jars and covers c.1800, each painted with a cartouche in yellow, ochre, blue, green and manganese, titled 'G R Gutt', 'R. Elem' and 'Scord.', some damages and restorations, 30cm. (6)
Scordium or water germander has a variety of uses including the promotion of sleep, 'Elem' relates to an exotic tree resin, while 'Gutt' relates to a form of drop.
