A large pair of Derby topographical vases c.1820, of campana shape, one painted with a scene of a weary traveller by the roadside in a mountainous landscape, the other with figures on and beside a lake, reserved in chamfered gilded panels on a deep blue ground, titled 'In Italy' to the underside, restoration to the handles of one vase, 33cm.
