A pair of Wedgwood black basalt sphinx candlesticks, 19th century, each modelled as a recumbent sphinx on a rectangular base, their wings supporting a candle sconce formed as a five-petalled flower, impressed marks, each on a separate black hardstone base, the sphinxes 16.1cm. (4)
