A blue and white Durham Ox meat dish
A blue and white Durham Ox meat dish, with draining channels, printed with the eponymous bull standing beside his owner, John Day, from the print by J. Whessell after the painting by John Boultbee, 1st half 19th century, a restored crack, 50cm. The Durham Ox was the result of an intensive breeding programme, and became famous after being toured around the country by his aristocratic owner.
