A large Parian group of the Union Refugees c.1861, modelled by John Rogers, a woman holding the hand of her young son and leaning her head wearily on her husband's chest, and a Parian group of a Classical maiden leading an old bearded man across brick steps, with a young girl behind, some damages, 46cm max. (2)
John Rogers was an American sculptor who produced a series of figures based around the American Civil War, several of which were taken up by the English Art Union.
