A Longton Hall saucer dish c.1756-58, decorated in the Castle Painter style with a turreted tower beside water with a sailing boat beside, brown line rim, a small chip to the footrim, 20cm.
While John Hayfield is often the name put forward as the identity of the Castle Painter, the style is actually known to have been executed by several hands.
