A fine Bow ovoid vase, painted in the Kakiemon style in iron red, turquoise, green, black and gold with a court lady wearing a kimono standing amidst banded hedges, a tall chrysanthemum plant and scattered flowerheads, c.1755, 22cm.
This pattern, emblamatic of Autumn is after a Japanese original in the Burley House collection no.111.
