An unusual pearlware candle niche, painted in blue with a young man wearing a necklace, 18th/19th century, 25cm. Cf. G. Savage and H. Newman, An Illustrated Dictionary of Ceramics, p.63 for a similar example described as Bristol Delftware, c.1750.
