A Derby bourdalou
A Derby bourdalou, painted with sprigged decoration in blue, green and gilt, unmarked. Some wear. c.1800. 24.5cm. Portable chamber pots of this type were supposedly named after P?re Bourdalou,a French priest whose lengthy sermons precipitated the need for such conveniences.
