A pearlware 'Admiral Rodney' jug, dated 1785, modelled as the head and shoulders of the naval hero, around his hat brim inscribed 'Rodney' and moulded with naval and victory motifs beneath a formal border, picked out in blue, green and manganese, his pigtail forming the handle, inscribed in blue to the underside '1785 Rodney', some rim faults, 16.5cm high.
