An early Chelsea beaker

An early Chelsea beaker, with a fluted body moulded with spiralling flower stems, picked out in bright coloured enamels, the undulating rim with a brown line, unmarked. Small rim chips and a 2cm hair crack. c.1745-50, 7.5cm. Cf. J Austin, Chelsea Porcelain at Williamsburg, no.20 for a similar beaker.
