A rare dated Minton pte-sur-pte plate by Marc Louis Solon

A rare dated Minton pte-sur-pte plate by Marc Louis Solon, decorated in polychrome with a young female warrior in flowing diaphanous robes, defending herself with a shield from seven arrows, she stands upon a bow which incorporates the date 1874 above the signature 'L Solon', all upon a chocolate ground within a band inscribed 'Basil Holmes', a gilt dentil rim, impressed marks, 23.5cm. It is interesting to note that Solon exhibited his multi-coloured pte-sur-pte at all the major international exhibitions and first showed his Pompeiian or Etruscan styles in Vienna in 1873.
