A George II style painted wood mirror in the manner of Thomas Johnson, the shaped plates within a pierced and carved frame decorated with scrolling leaves, rocaille branches, urns, figures, an owl, dogs and a wolf with its prey, 19th century and later, the back with a printed label, inscribed 'IRWIN UNTERMYER', 180 x 92cm.

Gifted to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1964.
