A George III 'Sheraton' satinwood breakfront bookcase, inlaid with stringing and kingwood banding, the moulded detachable cornice with later glazed doors, enclosing adjustable plush lined shelves, the base fitted with a pull-out baize lined book slide, hinged and on a ratchet, above a pair of cupboard doors decorated with lozenge panels enclosing two adjustable shelves, flanked by banks of four graduated drawers, two with brass locks stamped 'DOWNER', fitted with later gilt brass Gillows style handles, on square tapering legs, 208cm high, 152.2cm wide, 61.3cm deep.
