An early 19th century mahogany stick barometer by Watkins and Hill, the arched silvered dial with a Vernier slide and signed 'WATKINS & HILL, 5 Charing Cross LONDON', with a moulded case and a turned domed cistern cover, 94.3cm long.
The partnership between Francis Watkins and William Hill began in 1819 at premises in the Charing Cross until 1856 when the business was acquired by Elliott Brothers.
