A 19th century French bronze figure of a classical lady
A 19th century French bronze figure of a classical lady, seated on a stool, holding a letter and with a posy of flowers, signed 'Duchoiselle', mounted on a marble plinth, 25.4cm high.
Little is known about the sculptor Duchoiselle, except that he supplied ceiling reliefs for the Louvre and Garnier's Opera in 1882.
