the brass eight day movement with five turned pillars and an anchor escapement striking on a bell, the 12 inch dial with silvered chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals the centre engraved with scrolls, an eagle and an urn and signed 'John Stone Aylesbury' with a subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture with Rococo spandrels, the arch with strike/silent dial, the case decorated in gilt on an olive green ground with chinoiserie scenes Chinese figures, buildings, trees and a horse, the hood with finials
