Charles Cumberworth (1811-1852). Hernán Cortés, bronze, signed 'Cumberworth' and with foundry mark of 'Susses Fres', on a stepped black marble base, 15in (38cm) h. Hernán Cortés was a Spanish explorer and conquistador who led the expedition that caused the downfall of the Aztec empire in the 15th century.
