Napoleonic interest. An unusual Austrian intricately carved limewood diorama, of the interior of a traditional alpine hunting lodge, the seasoned members of the hunting fraternity mapping their expedition whilst a youth is presented to them for his first hunting foray, in a cushion shaped mahogany frame, printed label to to the reverse 'Fr Unterberger in Innsbruck - Speckbacher and Sein Sohn 1809 Nach Defregger', the back with a silver gelatin photograph showing the contents of the shop in Innsbruck in the 19th century with this diorama included in the image of the stock, circa 1850-70, 18.5 x 22in (47 x 56cm).
This scene depicts Andreas Hoffer and Josef Speckbacher planning the revolt against Napoleon in the Tyrol in 1809.
