λ A pair of George III mahogany card tables
λ A pair of George III mahogany card tables, inlaid with boxwood and ebonised stringing, the 'D' shaped hinged top banded in satinwood and rosewood, revealing a baize lined interior and on twin gate supports, above an inlaid frieze centred with a tablet, on square tapering legs and spade feet, the underside of one with a paper label inscribed in pencil 'Sir A. Twysden Bt.', 71.8cm high, 81.5cm wide, 44cm deep. (2)
The label on one of the tables probably relates to Sir Anthony Roger Duncan Twysden, 11th Baronet (1918-1946). The Baronetcy was created in 1611 and the family seat was at Roydon Hall, East Peckham, Kent.
