Taxidermy. A late Victorian preserved group of five birds by J. Cooper of London, including: a barn owl, a long eared owl, a burrowing owl and an African pearl spotted owl, mounted in a naturalistic case, the painted backboard with the remains of a printed paper trade label, inscribed: 'Preserved by J. COOPER, 28 Radnor Street..., LONDON', in a gilt and ebonised glazed case, with inscribed label 'Nightjar', 61.7cm high, 58.2cm wide, 20cm deep.
